“The maker movement is about people who want to gain more control of the human design world that they interact with every day."

Mark makes things. He starts, founds, writes, creates, builds, generates, and establishes things like art, books, blogs, and companies.

He has spoken around the world in museums, libraries, and universities about the history of making in the 20th century, the tools available now to help makers, and where the movement is going.

Frauenfelder is also very passionate about engaging youth in the maker culture early. He has spoken and led workshops at TEDxKids and has written books about making with kids, such as Maker Dad.

People make things for a variety of reasons: environmental, community-minded, invention. Regardless of whether you’re a professional maker yourself, or simply THINK about making stuff all the time, come get inspired by this guy to make something incredible!
