Victoriascreativefestival THINKLANDIA is Victoria’s creative festival. It is a place where interactive installations, international speakers, engaged creative communities, and brilliant ideas come together in an innovative and exploratory forum. From CEOs, to physicists, to artists, to neuroscientists, to risk takers, to bold thinkers, great people and big ideas come to life at Thinklandia.

Think16 is a bigger, bolder vision of what a creative festival can be, how great ideas can be shared, and what creativity can do to bring people and the future closer. Thinklandia is about people, their ideas, and what they are capable of - we create an engaging, interactive, and accessible forum where ideas big and small can be communicated in a way that resonates with bright minds.

WHO WE ARE

THINKLANDIA is a festival of imagination, thought, and inspiration created to connect our creative communities to one another, and to the world. It is a platform that incites interaction by connecting artists, thinkers, designers, and entrepreneurs in a common forum. We work to engage people in the creative process, catalyze new and innovative ideas, and support the incredible people creating change, locally and globally.

Thinklandia is for thinkers - creatives, artists, designers, musicians, CEOs, children, and the curious. We work to create conversations capable of catalysing change, and an event capable of creating and supporting those conversations. Events are unique, illuminating, and inclusive, and deeply committed to diversity in our speaker roster.

This means a lot us. Since 2014 we have created policies ensuring our events hit key marks, namely:

• Gender parity among our speakers
• No all-male panels
• Meaningful diversity in our speakers roster
• Greater inclusion of LGBTQ+ communities
• Greater representation of First Nations peoples

Who We AreWho We Are

Thinklandia was born from the idea that Victoria is a deeply creative and vibrant place, one that thrives on greater connectivity, and one whose creative community has room to grow. Proposed as a creative component of Rifflandia Festival and launched with the support of Viatec, Thinklandia has grown into a creative event like no other in Canada. From world-renowned speakers, to local artists and startups, to unique events and conversations, Thinklandia an inclusive and illuminating experience designed to bring minds together.

Looking Forward

THINKLANDIA 2016 will be a watermark year. We are working with new partners to delivery a series of public programming, interactions, installations, and opportunities for engagement on a scale not seen in Victoria yet. We are invested in a brighter, bigger and bolder future, and working to create a festival that truly exemplifies what Victoria’s creative community is capable of.
